Great Okanagan Beer Festival

Gibbons Festivals & Events

Gibbons has been part of Whistler since they began building what we now know as Whistler Village back in the late 70’s. For over thirty years we have been celebrating with people from all over the world and established ourselves as a leader in the hospitality industry, currently owning five iconic venues throughout the village. In 2012 we decided to launch our own events division to work with community organizations and larger collaborations that bring the world to Whistler.

We work with some of the most innovative event organizers that come to Whistler including sports entities like Tough Mudder, GranFondo and Outerbike, tech conference such as GROW and TEDActive and lifestyle events like Wanderlust, Cornucopia and the Whistler Film Festival. We also work with community initiatives like the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, Cornucopia, and the Whistler Film Festival.

Launch of the Beer Festivals

In 2013 we decided to launch our first large Gibbons event with the birth of the Whistler Village Beer Festival. We placed the festival at the end of the summer in mid-September and worked with community partners to lengthen our summer offering, attracting more guests and helping local businesses. This was a huge success and in 2014 we grew, doubling the size of our festival in only one year. In 2015 we’re broadening our horizons by expanding our flagship Whistler event and starting the Great Okanagan Beer Festival in Kelowna BC.

At Gibbons we know that when our community thrives, then so do we.

That’s why we created a community pot, which we then use to support sports teams, athletes, musicians, artists, and festivals & events that bring people together to celebrate. We’ve been heavily invested in Whistler and its development for over 30-years and are team is passionate to see it continue to develop and grow. Follow what we do, who we support and work with on this website. On this site you’ll find information on the community initiatives we support. If you want to get involved or have any questions for us please contact us.

Our events and festivals division is growing – watch this space.
